Choosing Inkjet Printers
by Stan Cholany
Why is it difficult to choose a new printer for your work or home? The most evident answer is that the market is full of marketing tools that confuse the average costumer. You have to be very careful so as not to misuse your money on a bad investment. What is more, cheaper refurbished printers will be available at any store, so be careful and compare the different printers with their characteristics and their prices.
Inkjets are wonderful color printers that have become even more popular with the increased purchase of digital cameras in the United States. To make really amazing digital photo prints, you will need an Inkjet or a specialty printer, generally found at a store. If you are planning to make a lot of photos with your camera, you will be best served by going ahead and buying your own printer. Additionally, Inkjet printers can print normal documents, such as charts and graphs, which will benefit from the use of color. The two most important features of your new printer will be the print quality and the ink cartridge cost.
The print quality of your new inkjet is what you need to be most aware of because you are going to use the printer not only for important business and school documents, but also for photographs of your family and friends. In most stores you will find something printed as an example, so pay attention to the qualities of the different inkjet printers. What you need is a high quality print to achieve what you want; if it doesn’t happen it is going to be a waste of money. With a good quality printer you will notice the difference and your pictures will not look unprofessional.
Additionally, you will want to consider the cost of Inkjet cartridges. Depending on the printer, these can cost between $20 and $40 per cartridge; some of these may be even higher depending on the printer. You will also want to find out how often cartridges generally have to be replaced; the most they have to be replaced with regular use, the more money this will eventually cost you. Research your potential Inkjet printer on the Internet to discover whether it is the right choice for you, and if its accessories and parts are within your budget.
Finally, talk to friends, neighbors and coworkers to get their suggestions for Inkjet printers. The best way to find out about any product is to talk to people who have actually used the products. Do remember, however, to only really listen to those people who really understand computers and printers and know what they’re talking about.
Additionally, do your own research on the Internet; many online stores will allow you to compare a number of different products to see the different options and styles available.
Finally, go to the store, look at a test document, and decide which printer is the best for you and your family and your needs for school, home, business, and pleasure.
